Japanese Wave Pattern Art – Minimalist Seigaiha Wagara Design – Tranquility & Peace – Laser Engraved – Made with Cherry Wood
To make this piece I started by digitally drawing the design with Adobe Illustrator. This design was inspired by the Seigaiha Pattern, a traditional Wagara Japanese Pattern used for over a thousand years to depict the peaceful ocean as well as surges of good fortune. It reminds me of peaceful times at with family in Japan.
I hand select the cherry wood from a local supplier in Tucson, Arizona, then do the making down at my workshop next to my chicken coop and goat pen.
I use a laser engraver / cutter to add the pattern and cut the wood, then complete the work by sanding and finishing by hand.
The wood grain is natural, so each one will look slightly different, all surfaces are treated with a food-safe oil, to prevent stains and and damage.
I package and ship all my items myself, and gift wrapping and shipping is always included for no extra charge. Comes with mini easel for displaying on your desk or countertop.
I can make this piece on other types of wood, and at different sizes, please contact me directly for commissions.
Thank you for looking at my work!
